[CVALE] GIMP Help - Never Mind

I took a break.  Got something to eat.  Came back and figured it out in about 90 seconds.

I merged the text layer with the triangle layer.  Selected the bucket fill and chose the color erase 
option.  Clicked on the text a a 'hole' was created.  Very Simple

I previoulsy had tried to paste the text selection instead of simply merging the layers.
