I was thinking that a topic for potential CVALE presentations would be to give an overview of sound
in Linux. This could consist of areas such as:
- audio file formats
- major sound chips/cards and their drivers
- audio players and their frontend and backend components
- audio file utilities and manipulation/conversion applications
- audio libraries required for different tasks/applications
...perhaps presented over a couple of different meetings. Nothing too deep, just a good overview.
For myself I'd like to hear about the audio file formats and their characteristics. (comparisons)
Something similar could be done with video.
Just a thought in case someone wants to put something like this together for an upcoming meeting or two.
