[CVALE] Dec 12th Meeting

I was thinking that a topic for potential CVALE presentations would be to give an overview of sound 
in Linux.  This could consist of areas such as:
  - audio file formats
  - major sound chips/cards and their drivers
  - audio players and their frontend and backend components
  - audio file utilities and manipulation/conversion applications
  - audio libraries required for different tasks/applications

...perhaps presented over a couple of different meetings.  Nothing too deep, just a good overview.

For myself I'd like to hear about the audio file formats and their characteristics. (comparisons)

Something similar could be done with video.

Just a thought in case someone wants to put something like this together for an upcoming meeting or two.
