Been using Kubuntu for several months now without problems. Ubuntu is
Debian/Gnome, Kubuntu is Debian/KDE. I've never been a fan of Gnome,
hence I chose to go Kubuntu. Package wise, both use the ubuntu apt
repositories and so far, everything I've tried to run for both KDE and
Gnome has worked using apt-get or Kynaptic. I've only had to build a of
apps from source. I used to be a Slackware user and had to build apps
all the time so apt is quite a (nice) change.
