ethtool eth0 (or eth1) should give you a rundown on the network interface
information.
Alternately I found a ton of informtaion in /proc on my one system... but
can't seem to find it here. Probably a kernel version thing :( Anyhow. If
you have ethtool installed it gives you most everything you need. For what
it's worth this is also the way you manipulate the physical aspect of your
ethernet interface. (speed, duplex and autonegociation.
Example here:
root at lazarus:/proc# ethtool eth0
