[CVALE] Capturing Video On Linux

Landon:

I have a adapter you can borrow, it is the one I have been *trying*
to use. It is a Pinnacle USB-500 video capture. It is independent of
the computer and has both firewire and USB from it to the computer. It
is known that USB 2.0 is faster than IEEE1394 in specs. 480 vs 400.
USB I had thought would have been more supported. Just kept thinking I
was looking in the wrong places.s

I have tried firewire on this computer with the Pinnacle USB-500 unit
and in no case on either OS unit work with the supplied
firewire...er...wire? Firewire cable.

I can stream video over the USB through XP, but even Efty Eft does not
recognize the hardware. It is seen as "Unknown" but I am not anywhere
near good enough to write anything that would help. (Read Pakled?)

But I will keep trying. Someone somewhere will have wanted to do the
same thing.

Anyway, keep looking and I'll do the same, it will work eventually.

I have faith.
