Most dynamic DNS has a standard, if not widely known protocol, well supported in Linux.  Avoid any service that doesn't follow that protocol, I beg you.  Let's see if I can't dredge up some links...

^^^ that should give you an idea of who does what.  I guess it's not a standard protocol, damn... well it still should be feasible, as long as you pick a DNS service that will work with ddclient, or has an open protocol you can shoehorn in yourself.
