David,
I am so pitiful. Any tips on how I would "check for irq conflicts"?
Also, do I just run "dmesg" from the command line and review the output.

Landon,
Check your irq's for conflicts. Perhaps your monitor and usb mouse are
using the same (or other similar combination - like your HD or CDROM)
Also, is there anythign in dmesg??

I have been having this very weird problem with my mouse on the new Dell
at my house. I don't know if this is a hardware problem, or a Linux
problem. (I don't have the problem when I'm using Windows Vista on the
same computer, so I think it might be a Linux problem.)
Every few minutes when I go to click on something, my mouse stops
responding. The keyboard is usually still operating at this point. Here
is the kicker:
If I unplug the mouse and plug it back into the USB port, it works. (For
a few more minutes.)
When this first started happening I thought the computer was locking up,
and I was restarting it. At least now I only have to pull the computer
out and unplug/plug the mouse.
Does anyone know why this might be happening? Is it a problem with my X-
Windows configuration? (Remember that I am running Debian.)
Thanks for any suggestions on how I can trouble shoot this.
Landon
