I know different file systems are good for different things.

Personally I use ext3 and reiserfs depending on what the partition is
going to be used for. Both seem to recover well from crashes too.

i.e. for sheer compatibility, ext3 is good because is uses the standard
ext2 file tools. [0]

I know reiserfs is great for a huge amount of very small files, and xfs
is great when dealing with _huge_ files. Some file systems have
different limitations in regards to file size limitations [1]

I believe it's pronounced "rye-sir"
