    I thought that might be something like that and finally remembered 
the grep command, which turned up nothing.  It's slowly coming back. 
Being blind doesn't help either.  Gotta cursor to each little line and 
wait for it to be read to me by the screen reader.  I'm avout to break 
down and 'wget www.ldp.org', and then a 'grep "alias" * > ~/aliases' on
