[CVALE] Has my mouse virus infected my keyboard?

I haven't had time to follow through with the suggestions from this
group on diagnosing the problem with my mouse. (I will try to do that
this week.) I thought I would offer one other bit of information that
may or may not help narrow down the potential causes of the problem.

 

On occasion my keyboard will go bonkers and will continue to enter a
single key I have pressed when typing text. For example: I hate it when
my keyboard does
thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.

 

It continues to do this in any text field that I give focus. The only
way I can fix it is to reboot the computer. Not even unplugging/plugging
the keyboard seems to fix this.

 

Could this problem be related to my mouse freezing/becoming
unresponsive?
