One of the Debian users told me that you can use chroot to emulate a 32 bit system and thus run 32 bit programs. I read a little bit about chroot here, but I don't understand how this works exactly. Perhaps one of the other advanced Linux users will provide some insight.
I think I'm going to try to compile the source code for Mozilla Sunbird on my computer, rather than use chroot. We'll see how successful I am in that ventrure. If I can get it to work then I can make a Debian package for Sunbird on AMD64 available to other Debian users.

Hmmm Good question. I kinda know some of the words that has been described as the process for this, But I really can't remember at the moment. I just decided to stick with 32 bit and save myself the hassle. But I would like to know if you still have to create a seperate 32 bit environment and stuff... Is there no way to just emulate 32 bit? sorry I couldn't help but maybe if there's 2 people asking, there'd be more inclination to answer ;)

What wizardry does he speak of? If I get the source code for a program that needs to be compiled and I compile and build the program on my 64 bit computer will it run?
Thanks,
