I wondered what Pete was talking about when he mentioned "LP64". Here is

I think you're right. I was busy moving to America and later stuck
in Sun Storage when that Project Wyoming was executed, but I saw some
of it from the sidelines. The most impressive part for me was that
initially someone at SunSoft made a wrong choice by using ILP64 model,
and later they recognized the mistake and changed it to LP64. There
may perhaps be a lesson in it.
