[CVALE] Install a terminal server netwrok in Linux

Dear All

I am considering setting up a computer lab for underprivileged kids (about 15 computers). To cut the costs (funds are limited)we are thinking of setting up one central processor and 15 to 25 terminals with key boards. We intend to install open source software like opensourceoffice, Gimp etc to teach the kids for that matter anyone that is interested.  
The next phase will be to seek to have prerecorded lectures and stream them via Internet to participants in these labs. Perhaps somewhat idealistic but we want to have lectures taped of primary education subjects like math, and languages to help fend the drop out rates.

Can someone give me the technical specs to get this network set up with Linux and other open source software.
