[CVALE] New Purpose For CVALE?

I can offer my home in South Stockton as a possible meeting place, if
one was needed. I've got wireless internet set up, and plenty of room.
I'm right off Highway 99 and Arch Road.

I'd love to hear talks on any of the following topics:

- How to Compile Drivers for Linux Using GCC
- Best Practices for Back-up Management in Linux
- The Basics of Home Office Networking with Linux
- The Basics of Video Editing with Linux
- Integrating Open Source Programs with The Gnome Desktop

I would be willing to present on any of the following topics:

- Basic Graphic Design on Linux Using Scribus and Inkscape
- An Introduction to Object Oriented Programming With Java and Eclipse
- "Implications of Place" - The Possible Impacts of Geo-Location On
Computer Technology
- Open Source Software Development - Advantages and Limitations

Perhaps we could start a wiki page of desired and available meeting
topics?

I could serve as a speaker coordinator for CVALE if there was interest.

P.S. - I could also use some help figuring out why my wireless internet
won't work on Ubuntu. :]

If meetings were started up again I would make an effort to attend. I'd

also be willing to give a presentation or two, if there was some
operating system topic that folks found interesting (I could toss out
some ideas).

It'd be nice to find other folks in the area that have an interest in
computers beyond just playing games :) Not that I have anything against

games :)
